Recently, I have decided to change car. As car is a depreciating asset, I keep reminding myself to control the budget spent on a car. On average, a car will depreciate about 10%-20%, or more annually.

Take a good example of my car. Five years ago, it cost me about RM 65k. Today, the highest offer I ever got was a mere RM 25k. Geez, that is like RM 8k loss per year. Ok, not THAT bad. Still, RM 8k a year is money. But then of course, we trade it with comfort and convenience. So, ok.

First, it was the new Camry. If the salesman had been a smooth talker, I think I would've paid the booking and get the car. Luckily, he wasn't. I decided to take a look at X-Trail. I know, I don't have a specific model in mind, I just know that I wanted a new car.

So, walked into the Nissan showroom, and too bad, there's no X-Trail on display. But there's this SYLPHY. Huh? The salesman was good. He even managed to convince me to do a test drive and I LOVE it. Plus, the car was reasonably priced. Not to mention the salesman threw in lots of goodies for me! However, mum insisted that I take my hubby to view the car before I confirm the purchase. Sigh...ok.

So, the next day, I quickly brought my hubby to the showroom. Again, the salesman insist that we test drive the car. Everything about the car was good, well...except for the design. My hubby cautioned me...."You sure you like this design?" Well...I told him that the salesman agreed to do some modification to both exterior (follow IMPUL) and interior...plus, he is throwing in the V-Cool for me too!

My hubby kept asking me, "You sure you like this car?" There I was, busy counting my money to pay the deposit. My hubby intercepted and told the salesman, "We would like to think it over, let's not make any payment today". I was like..."HUH?" EEEEeeeeeee.....well, ok.

My hubby then took me to the TOYOTA showroom again. He said, this time I should check out ALTIS. We went to a different TOYOTA showroom located in Segambut. And OMG, the new ALTIS is simply simply awesome! LUV LUV LUV it!!! We did another test drive!

Ok, confirm! I WANT this car! I want! I want! I want!!

Again, my hubby told me...Cool down....let's not make decision today.
